Stephen Quinlan
Steve has been a social worker for over 35 years and has practised in England, Scotland and British Columbia. He served as a director for PLEA, a large non-profit, where he built a database that was designed to track and improve services for community charities which earned him “The Most Inspiring Social Worker of the Year” in 2015 from the University of British Columbia Social Work Department and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers.
He has been a Subject Matter Expert for The Association of Social Workers Board of North America. Steve is currently an Addictions Counsellor, at Alouette Addictions Services where he developed the concept of Happiness Management. Steve’s dry self-deprecating sense of humour and English accent grabs the audience and keeps them listening to every word.
Steve is very active in his community organizing many community events and serving on various non-profit boards. In his personal life, he practices his own happiness management and has set the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to travel to all Vancouver Skytrain stations and plans to continue setting these records as each new line comes into service.
